TINY BOOKWORMS' CORNER

Books are brilliant! We love them and we want you to love them too – no matter how old you are… This year we are bringing you a selection of events for ‘tiny bookworms’ which are designed to inspire and excite the reader in you, whatever your age!

Our ‘Tiny Bookworms Corner’ will be packed full of activities for teenies from birth to 5 years old. There are rhyme times, singing, storytelling and creative, imaginative fun for little ones all through this year’s Book Festival.

These events are likely to be very popular – so make sure to book your tickets as soon as possible!!

Tuesday 30 September
Bookstart Rhymetimes

Bookworm Corner
11.15am -11.45am and 2.00pm-2.30pm
Bookstart Rhymetimes are activities for babies, toddlers and their parents. They are organised locally and take place in many libraries around the country to encourage parents and carers to share rhymes and songs with babies from birth onwards.They incorporate a mix of songs, rhymes, rhythm and movement, and provide the opportunity to share games, novelty books and toys.
Cost: Free Age: under 3s and their parent or carer.


Wednesday 01 October
Fairytale Funtime

Bookworm Corner
11.15am -11.45pm
Do you love all things fairytale?? Princes’ and princesses’, knights and dragons, castles and cauldrons…come along for a fairytale funtime including a join-in story, costumes and craft with Eden Court tutor Jannah Main.
Cost: £1.00 Age: 2-4 yrs and their parent or carer

Thursday 02 October
Best Book Bonanza

Bookworm Corner 11.15am -11.45am
Bring along your best picture book and we will see what exciting things can happen, including drama, rhymes and stories. Books will turn into birds, butterflies, dinosaurs and probably more! With Eden Court tutor Jesse Paul.
Cost: £1.00 Age 3-5 yrs and their parent or carer


Friday 03 October
Along the Line

Bookworm Corner
11.00am -12.00pm
A storytelling get together for parents and young children involving washing lines, pegs and lots of lovely stories passing from children to adults and the other way round.

‘Dae ye mind they days we’d pass the time
telling stories down the line
The same aul stories you’d ken fine.
So come away
the weather’s fine
